Wikinfo A New Internet Encyclopedia With a Difference

Wikiowl
While wandering the web looking for information about the "nature vs. nurture" debate, I cam across a reference in a wiki encyclopedia. It is a wiki encyclopedia of a different color, not the pale purple globe of Wikipedia but a wise green owl the logo of Wikinfo. Here is how the new publication differentiates itself from Wikipedia:

"Wikinfo is designed based on editing experience on Wikipedia. It uses a fork of the Wikipedia software and certain editorial and stylistic policies are different. A major innovation, especially with regard to controversial subjects, is the policy of sympathetic point of view. The main article on a subject, especially a person, a country, or a movement should present the subject in as good a light as the facts permit. Additional articles which present alternative views of a subject in the form A critical view of Wikipedia can be written and linked to the main article. This maintains the integrity and coherence of the main article while preserving editorial balance. Hopefully it will also help avoid the edit wars which plague Wikipedia. In the case of concepts such as reality or truth writing from a sympathetic point of view means to make the most of the concept in the sense of presenting it as coherent, valuable and useful; for example, truth and truth:A sceptical view. One viewpoint, notable for the amount of heat it generates on Wikipedia, is the current academic material being presented on a subject in college classes. This should, in appropriate cases, be presented as an alternative viewpoint to the main article when conflict arises. This has been observed on Wikipedia to occur particularly in philosophy and political science related areas but doubtless could occur in any academic area where specialized and sophisticated treatment of a subject may materially differ from the way it is treated by the general public."
