Updated: Franklin-Covey sent us a coupon so I'm including it in this post
Begin original post: So many planning software titles get reviewed here that people probably wonder what software I use myself for tasks and contacts. Well to start with I use Microsoft Outlook for my email. When I read about PlanPlus Version 1 a few years ago, I reviewed it and found it a bit rough.
I got in the habit of using GoalPro 6 which is another goal program that integrates with Outlook --- sort of. I still was hoping for a solution that truly integrates with Outlook that PlanPlus promised.
So when Version 3 of PlanPlus for Outlook came out, I finally got what I needed. PlanPlus for Outlook Version 3 works so well with Microsoft Outlook that it might be described as Outlook on steroids. I have used it ever since!
Franklin Covey's software holds the title as publisher of the longest running series of Windows Personal Information Manager (PIM) of all time. I told the story in an earlier post of how I started using their earlier program called Ascend back when Windows 3.1 was the hot operating system.
Well this lineage of venerable software has now given birth to a new generation with the introduction of PlanPlus for Outlook Version 4.0. While Version 3.0 was revolutionary, this new version is more an evolution, the adding of some welcome tweaks.

Some of the new features in version 4.0 include an improved "Task List" which now supports multiple columns for organizing by status, priority, subject, project, categories, owner, and due date.
In the project View, you can now click once to assign priority, rank, ownership, categories, and time-lines View project tasks, notes, and progress all on one screen. There is also better Palm synchronization.
If you want to try the software out, there is a 30 day trial available and if you visit the Franklin-Covey site through this link, you get $10 off on any purchase when you give them coupon code "16618!"

I have been using Plan Plus since version 2, and anyone that uses the Covey planning system and Outlook will be very happy with the product. It's well worth the money.
They did introduce in Version 3 something that I wish worked better - the idea of Projects and multi-level tasks. As it was implemented its not a useful feature, but with a few tweaks it will be perfect. I am eagerly looking forward to the next version.
