LightStone Biofeedback Sensors at Wild Divine Biofeedback
According to a newly discovered resource, the Biofeedback Blog:
(Wild Divine) It is mostly a graphic-heavy adventure game that uses heart rate variability (HRV) and galvanic skin response (GSR) biofeedback to solve the puzzles instead of pointing and clicking. LSMonitor (software) is an Open Source project that looks to use Wild Divine’s LightStone as a more traditional biofeedback device. It allows you to see the raw biometric data in numeric and graph forms.
The author is also working to create and API that will allow coders to more easily create additional utilities and games that use the LightStone. The project is in beta and requires .NET 1.1 to run.
So I registered at Lightstone Zone which you have to do if you want to download any of the files. I downloaded and easily installed the software which for Windows only (as the requirement for Net 1.1 should have given away). The software flawlessly detected my LightStone and the screen to the right is what you get (click on it to bring it up to full size). Heart rate and GSR are graphed separately.
Its interesting how the LighStone is becoming a kind of development platform for biofeedback software. In a previous post Take Biofeedback Gaming to the Next Level -- New 3D Add-On Game for Journey to Wild Divine, I talked about some third party games developed in my old home town, Santa Cruz California So t will be interesting to see if the people doing the LightStone Zone take this project further.
