Wild Divine Biofeedback Project's Second Part of Trilogy -- Wisdom Quest -- to Ship September 15!
Updated: A lot of you have been asking me: "what's up" with Wisdom Quest, the long promised second part in the Journey to Wild Divine Trilogy.
The new software works along with an amazing interactive biofeedback game which has become quire popular among readers of the Mindware Forum. You can watch a trailer of Wisdom Quest here;
Well the answer comes via a new press release. Here are some excerpts:
The Wild Divine Project, creators of wellness products that help people of all ages learn to live healthier, more balanced lives, in partnership with Deeps Chopra, M.D., announced today the creation of Wisdom Quest ...the second in a series of computer-based wellness products offering consumers the opportunity to improve their health with advanced breathing and meditation techniques.
Wisdom Quest is a continuation of The Wild Divine Project’s first product, The Journey to Wild Divine: The Passage, a revolutionary product featuring personal biofeedback for consumer use. Launched roughly a year ago, The Journey to Wild Divine teaches people of all ages meditation, breathing and yoga techniques in an interactive and entertaining way, giving them the ability to take control of and improve their mental, physical and emotional health. The Journey’s three biofeedback sensors (which plug into a computer’s SUB port) gently attach to the fingers to monitor skin conductance levels and heart rate variability.
As the player advances through the biofeedback activities they are trained to control different states of their energy from exhilaration and joy to relaxation and deep meditation. Once they master a particular skill (meaning their heart rate and skin conductance hit the targeted level for that activity), they can move to the next training event. Because of the biofeedback element, there is no way to use these products without truly letting go of the day’s stress. Wisdom Quest builds on the initial lessons of game one.
Through a powerful storyline, Chopra is featured in Wisdom Quest as your guide, Rama, teaching deeper lessons about the mind-body connection and how to apply them in every day life. Concepts from Chopra’s The Book of Secrets are highlighted throughout the game adding a new dimension to the overall experience of mind-body training.
New technology has been added to the program that allows users to set their own levels of difficulty (one through five, with five being the most difficult) and new complex events have been added that use multiple biometrics, helping to develop even deeper levels of mind-body mastery the more players practice. Also, the addition of a new guided activity mode and training manual will enable the user to easily access and practice the biofeedback events to increase the impact the training can have on their daily lives.
The Journey to Wild Divine has attracted significant attention over the past year from medical professionals and researchers. The company expects Wisdom Quest to generate even further excitement about the technology. In fact, Dr. Dean Cornish, an internationally recognized authority in heart health, is also featured in Wisdom Quest, sharing his pr oven techniques for improving heart-health through relaxation and meditation. According to Cornish, “The Journey to Wild Divine and subsequent games take important elements necessary for general good health, and wraps them into a form of entertainment that can easily become a part of day-to-day life and can ultimately lead to long-term health benefits.”
More than 30 years of research supports the effectiveness of biofeedback and currently more than 150 different conditions are treated using biofeedback. Researchers from renowned medical centers across the country are now looking at how The Wild Divine Project’s products can be used to treat migraine headaches, chronic pain, autism, post traumatic stress disorder, social anxiety, ADDED, depression and obesity.
One study underway at New York University is being conducted to determine how playing the game will affect acute pain following surgery. More than 20 medical and research organizations have proposals to use The Journey to Wild Divine in clinical studies or other research.
I'm not sure about its great health benefits but I do know that the Passage is great fun so I'm looking forward to the new software. You can visit the Journey to Wild Divine here.
